Artist / Frederick Judd Waugh

Frederick Judd Waugh (1861 - 1940) was a leading American artist known for his beautiful seascape paintings. He was the son of painter Samuel Waugh and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Interestingly, he was a camouflage artist for the U.S. Navy during World War I.

His seascape paintings are incredibly realistic, without being overly refined. The paintings have a very natural feel to them. This is always one of my goals for painting - to have an element of realism whilst retaining a painterly feel.

Мегрельские хачапури


• Вода теплая — 150 мл
• Сахар — 2 ч. л
• Быстродействующие сухие дрожжи — 2 ч. л
• Молоко — 100 мл
• Масло сливочное — 30 г
• Яйцо — 1 шт
• Соль — 1 ч.л
• Мука — 500 г
• Сыр сулугуни — 600 г

Пирог манник

● Мука 1 стакан
● Манка 1 стакан
● Кефир 1 стакан
● Сахар неполный стакан
● Масло сливочное 100 гр.
● Яйцо 2 шт.
● Сода 0,5 ч.л.

Стакан манки заливаем кефиром. Хорошо перемешиваем и оставляем манку набухать, примерно на 40 минут. Добавляем к набухшей в кефире манке яйца, сахар и размягчённое при комнатной температуре сливочное масло. Всё хорошенько перемешиваем (можно воспользоваться миксером). Добавляем муку и соду. Соду гасить не нужно, так как нужную для реакции кислоту нам даст кефир.Всё хорошо перемешиваем, чтобы не было комочков.

Получившееся тесто выкладываем в форму ( у меня диаметр формы 22 см). Ставим пирог выпекаться в разогретую до 180 градусов духовку на 35-40 минут. Готовность проверяем деревянной шпажкой или зубочисткой. Для этого просто протыкаем пирог в серединке, если зубочистка сухая, значит пирог готов. Даём остыть в форме. Достаём пирог их формы и присыпаем сахарной пудрой. Вкусный, мягкий, рассыпчатый и нежный пирог готов!
